Programs

School Year Offerings

The Curriculum-Supportive Program is a big piece of what makes us unique. In this program, our tutors reinforce and complement topics that students are learning in school classes. This approach works whether students need to enrich their depth of math understanding, brush up on concepts or hone their study skills.

Our popular Drop-In Program offers students the ability to “drop-in” during any 60-minute Drop-In session to ask a question or two or get help for an upcoming test. Drop-In sessions are offered Monday through Thursday and students are welcome to attend any or all sessions. This program is unique to Math Addvantage and students find it extremely helpful.

For Eagan High School students, our well-received Final Exam Review Program is an excellent preparation for the math final. While in a group setting, students are tutored using a review packet written by Math Addvantage. Not only does the session refresh and review the trimester's topics, but it highlights any weak areas that need attention before the exam.

Our Math for Breakfast program encourages students to wake up a little early on quiz and test days to review math problems while eating breakfast. The goal is to “jump start” their brain to think mathematically so it will be in full gear by test time.

ACT Preparation

Our ACT preparation program helps ready students for the ACT College Entrance Exam. This exam tests the knowledge and application of many concepts, including concepts most students have not worked with for several years. Students who have committed to our programs in the past have consistently achieved significantly higher ACT scores. Students who prepare for college entrance exams with us develop the confidence and skills they need to do their best.

Math Addvantage offers several review courses throughout the year. Comprehensive ACT Prep Course and the Subject-Specific ACT Prep Courses provide an excellent overview in preparation for the ACT exam.

 

COMPREHENSIVE ACT PREP COURSE reviews the English, Reading , Writing, Mathematics and Science sections of the ACT exam. Courses are offered prior to all nationally scheduled ACT exam dates and are limited to 15 students. Currently this course is being offered at Eagan High School.

Comprehensive ACT Prep Course features:

• Teaching to review, refresh and reinforce concepts
• Concept-specific practice drills from actual ACT exams
• Test-taking strategies taught specific to the ACT
• Familiarity with the exam builds student confidence
• Highly qualified instructors
• Small class size limit of 15 students

SUBJECT-SPECIFIC ACT PREP COURSES focus on particular sections of the ACT exam. Limited to six students, these courses feature in-depth reviews.

The Mathematics ACT Prep Course, ACT Science Prep Course and the ACT English, Reading and Writing ACT Prep Course features:

• Only 6 students in a class
• Instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Practice ACT exams given and reviewed
• In-depth teaching to review, refresh and reinforce concepts
• Concept-specific practice drills
• Test-taking strategies taught specific to the ACT
• Familiarity with the exam builds student confidence
• Highly qualified instructors

Summer Math

To keep students engaged during the summer, we offer our Summer Math Programs. Summer provides an excellent opportunity for students to brush up on concepts needed for the next year, enrich their depth of math understanding, or hone their study skills. In addition to a variety of summer academic classes and math mini-camps, Math Addvantage offers private and semi-private tutoring in the summer months.
